Pottery wall art, Herman Nieweg, vintage
Earthenware work of art, relief for the wall. The artwork is marked on the back wall with HN, made by Herman Nieweg. As an artist, Nieweg is self-taught. Herman Nieweg first studied interior design in Rotterdam, and a teacher introduced him to ceramics. This became his passion and he developed his own style in it.
Nieweg made many reliefs for the places Zwolle and Heino. In the 70s and 80s he worked from Giethoorn, in the 90s he moved to Portugal. He often made his work with the idea that we as humans are connected to each other, especially through energy and are also dependent on each other. You can also see this idea in this work of art.
A small part of the artwork was broken off and has been restored. The vintage earthenware artwork, relief for the wall is in good condition, see also the additional photos.
