Mission tin, Africa before Christ, vintage

This beautifully preserved mission tin belongs to the white fathers. A piece of history. The vintage tin is light cream in color and has a light blue print. The vintage tin has on the back the telephone numbers of 2 places in the Netherlands, Boxtel, here the fathers, wearing a white suit, bought a house at Burgakker 17 in 1920 and they were also located in Rotterdam. The vintage Africa BC consignment tin is in good condition, see the additional photos.

 

Nice to know is that the white costume is an outward sign of the principles with which Cardinal Lavigerie sent his missionaries. To be fully in the service of Africa and the Africans, to be familiar with the language and customs of the Africans and to show respect for their culture and religion.
