Single eraser roller, ink roller, vintage

A single eraser roll, we think its some kind of ink roller. We bought the vintage item from a film maker. It looks quite simple. A metal handle with a roller on it. The vintage eraser roll is in good condition, the eraser roll is in the original packaging. The box says U.N single gum roll.
