Finnish Jorma Laine bronze ring with chain, vintage
A bronze ring with a copper chain signed by Jorma Laine from Finland. A separate large ring with a matching chain. Striking, distinct, refined but also tough. Jorma Laine was one of the most extraordinary silversmiths in Finland and the far north of the 60s and 70s.
He developed a special, abstract, modern style of working with silver and bronze. His best work was for the company Turun Hopea, he also worked for the company Kultateollisuus Ky and of course for his own company Zilver Laine.
Jorma Laine lived in isolation, like a hermit in a log cabin close to the Finnish forests, where he also found inspiration for his beautiful geometric jewelry but was also inspired by for example snowflakes.
The stories of local myths and spirits were also a source of inspiration. A special man and so also a very special piece of jewelry. Note that the flat part in the chain around the oval has some irregularities and scratches, but we do not find this disturbing.
The adjustable vintage bronze ring and the vintage bronze chain are in good condition, see the extra pictures for the details.
Ring on top br. 2 x 1. 3 cm, chain br. 5 x l. 10.5 cm. This ring always fits, because it is adjustable.
